Permits
Right-of-way Excavation City Ordinances require a permit to be obtained before any excavation is made in any public right-of-way in the City of Chippewa Falls. The right-of-way excavation permit application fee is Fifty Dollars ($50) for any person working or excavating within the public right-of-way. The application fee must be paid when the permit is applied for and current Certificate of Insurance and a $3000 Performance Bond on file with the Engineering Office. After work has been completed the City of Chippewa Falls or the City’s Contractor will replace any concrete or street surface in the public right-of-way that has been removed or damaged. Subsequent billing for aforementioned surface work will be mailed to the permit holder after the work has been completed.
Driveway Permit City Ordinances require a permit to be obtained any time a new or replacement driveway approach is constructed within the right-of-way. Driveway permits can only be issued to the general contractor or the individual or company that will be performing the work. Permits can only be issued if the proposed driveway meets all code requirements. Driveway grades will be established by the Engineering Department. The Driveway Permit application fee is Fifty Dollars ($50).
