Welcome to the City Planning, Transit and Economic Development office. This office provides the City Council, the Plan Commission, the Transit Board and other citizen groups professional expertise and recommendations relating to city planning, zoning, site planning, subdivision review, historic preservation, and other land use issues; as well as expertise and recommendations related to transit management and economic development. Future growth and development in the community is guided by the Comprehensive Land Use Plan as well as zoning ordinances and subdivision and platting ordinances. Our department is committed to maintaining a quality planning process that involves a high degree of citizen participation.
