CFPD Retirements!

 

            Two veteran Chippewa Falls Police Officers retired on December 30th, 2009 after serving the city for a combined 60 years! 

 

 

            Chief Wayne Nehring started with the Chippewa Falls Police Department in November of 1979 and over a 30 year career served as a Patrolman, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Captain and finally Chief of Police.  Chief Nehring plans on doing some traveling and spending time with family.  He is also planning on teaching at area technical colleges in the near future. 

 

 

            Sgt. Gene Neitge was hired as a Chippewa Falls Police Officer in February of 1979.  During his 30 year career he served as a Patrol Officer, an Investigator and Field Supervisor with the West Central Drug Task Force and eventually as a Patrol Sergeant.  Sgt. Neitge also plans on spending some of his time traveling and with family and looks forward to more fishing and hunting in his retirement years.

 

            Our congratulations go out to these two gentlemen on their retirements, along with our sincere thanks for their outstanding commitment and dedication to the department and the city of Chippewa Falls!

 

 

 

Lt. Liddell Appointed Acting Chief!

 

 

 

            The Chippewa Falls Police Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Lt. John Liddell to the position of Acting Chief of Police.  His appointment took affect on December 31st, 2009. He assumed the responsibilities of Chief of Police following the retirement of Chief Wayne Nehring and will remain in that position until a new Chief is appointed.  Acting Chief Liddell is a 32 year veteran of the Chippewa Falls Police Department and has served at virtually every level within the organization. 

 

 

Promotion!

 

            The Chippewa Falls Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Officer David BeBeau to the rank of Patrol Sergeant!  His promotion was effective January 1, 2010 and he was assigned to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Sgt. Gene Neitge.  Sgt. BeBeau hails from Ashland, WI.  He served two years active duty in the U. S. Army and 6 years with the Wisconsin National Guard. He is also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire.  Sgt. BeBeau came to the Chippewa Falls Police Department in January 1996.  In addition to his work as a Patrol Officer he has served the department as a Field Training Officer, Bike Patrol Officer, Emergency Response Team member and, most recently, School Resource Officer.  We congratulate him on this achievement and welcome him to our supervisory team!
