Chippewa
Falls Shared Ride Taxi Program is a demand response, door-to-door
public transportation service. “Shared-Ride” means that you may travel
with more than one passenger with different destinations and/or origins.
The program operates within the Chippewa Falls city limits.
The program is administered by the Chippewa Falls Transit
Board and City Council. The City is responsible for determining the fares,
days and hours of service, and ultimately all facets of the program operation.
The City contracts with a private transit company to provide
the service. The service company is selected through a competitive bidding
process, which occurs once every five years.
Funding for the service comes from
the Federal Transit Administration, the
State of Wisconsin, the City of Chippewa Falls, and passenger fares.
